Machine Embroidered sketches

I have been translating some of my sketches into machine embroidery.

I love the bold graphic effect of black thread on white calico. I see it as an alternative to printmaking as I currently don't have the facilities for etching.

Oskar Kokoschka is one of my favourite artists, in this case, I think the embroidery could have been better - due to the continuous line aspect of machine embroidery you have to work quickly.

The original drawings of these bones and teeth can be found here. I'm hoping to find a piece of driftwood to mount them on next time I'm mudlarking.

I often find oysters when mudlarking. I embroidered a triptych in a limited colour palette. More photos when they are mounted.
