Concrete is so commonly found in our lives that we rarely notice it. As a sculpting material it is straightforward and versatile: less water in the mix gives a rougher finish, more water gives a smoother one. The vulnerability of the fabric and stitches is at odds with the solidity and permanence of the concrete.

Keeping a tally of days of recovery is a fundamentally flawed idea - where do you start counting? Are the bricks to rebuild your life solid, reliable or fluid and ever-shifting?
